What's new at Global Leominster & Fitchburg
Posted January 25, 2008 Happy New Year from the whole staff at Global Fitness! January is a very special month (whether you like the cold and snow or not). It's a time of reflection as we look back on the completed year and a time of anticipation as we "turn the page" to 2008! We at Global Fitness are so grateful to all our members because they have chosen our clubs as the best place to improve their health and their lives. We've worked hard to reward that confidence by providing what we like to call "WOW" workouts each and every time a member visits us. Looking back at 2007... We were able to make some exciting equipment and program additions to Leominster and Fitchburg last year. We added brand new flat panel televisions in Leominster, and bought new cardio equipment for Leominster and Fitchburg from Matrix, an exciting new player in the fitness industry. Plus we added five more bikes to our Ride Studio in Fitchburg! We also celebrated the arrival of two new programs, Group Active and FIT-traxx. Group Active has been instrumental in getting hundreds of members involved in Group Fitness. It's been great to see so many of our members add classes to their weekly routine and it would not have been possible without this perfect intro program and the encouraging instructors who teach it! When we launched FIT-traxx last September we knew it would be good but the success of the program has exceeded our most optimistic expectations! This group personal training program has everything you could want--a structured program with a definite length conducted in a small group that includes variety, measurable gains and nutritional help. Our program development team has put a LOT of effort into designing FIT-traxx and we look forward to making it even better in 2008! If you haven't tried it, be sure to register for a sample workout before our next launch in February. Looking ahead to 2008... We're just about ready to unveil our newest program, MAX-traxx. This extra high intensity program will challenge even the fittest individual that is looking for something entirely new and different. Watch for flyers at the clubs and E-Lerts for more info, demo times and registration info. A few words of encouragement This upcoming year can be your best yet but it is up to you. Improvement doesn't come from huge changes that turn one's life upside down. Lasting improvement happens after many small changes over the course of time that alter one's life for the better. It comes from a stick-to-itiveness that helps one overcome a slip up now and then. I describe myself (I'm sure my wife and family would agree) as the "laziest fit person" on the planet." I exercise to feel good when I'm totally relaxing. Without exercise, I can't relax because I don't feel I have "earned" it. This keeps me coming back and searching for what I need to do to improve today, this week and this year. By the way, my biggest fitness goal this year is to improve flexibility and endurance. I'll see you in Centergy®! I hope that, as you begin to anticipate what is to come from 2008, you take the time to celebrate family and health and reflect on the past year's accomplishments. If you have ever taken one of my classes you will be ready for the "best workout EVER!" Try something different this year that will allow you to experience a different way of getting fitter and healthier. Don't wait to try something new! For example, you will never be "ready" to take a class so just take one anyway. Like all things in life, there is a learning curve. I always say to people that are afraid to try something new: "What if Lance Armstrong was afraid of looking silly to get on a bike?" You might be a great warrior by trying Group Kick® and you might be a great dancer if you try Group Groove®. Just try and enjoy. That's all for now. See you at the club.
